We also have a responsibility to minimise negative impacts, especially on the environment. This is done through both the way we behave and the way we educate ourselves and reflect on that behaviour. The travel industry is in a flawed situation that travelling itself can have a damaging environmental impact, but 10% of the world’s population, including many developing countries, are reliant on the industry. Our approach is to ensure that when we have the incredible privilege to travel, we make it count! We engage with local communities, support local enterprise and learn ways to actively develop ourselves and improve the lives of others. This is the first step towards making travel sustainable, and ensuring that we are leaders in encouraging responsible travel.
