Bali

Options include Service & Community Insight – Eco-Adventure – Surfing – Yoga

Bali is a spiritual paradise, rich in diversity, with so much to offer.

Our service project is based off the beaten track on the north coast. Here we are working to help rehabilitate the reef which was the cornerstone of the ornamental fish industry, but has been gradually destroyed by potassium cyanide fishing. We work with the local fishermen to develop initiatives to replenish the reef, encourage sustainable fishing techniques, and protect the reef from the new menace of ocean plastic. We gain a greater understanding of the challenges faced, and work with an incredible group of people who are trying to create a brighter future for the whole island.

We also get adventurous as we take on white-water rafting, surfing, cycling and mepantingan – the only mud-wrestling/ martial art/ dancing/ yoga combo in the world that involves a harmony duck! We immerse ourselves in the incredible culture as we learn about the religion and spirituality of the amazing friendly islanders who live here, joining in with their rituals and daily lives. The spirit of Bali will remain inside you long after the busy trip, leaving you with an overwhelming desire to return one day.

Have you considered:

Finding your zen on a yoga week in this spiritual paradise Rehabilitating a coral reef destroyed by bad fishing practises Capturing the stunning diversity of the small island on a photography trip
