Much of the history of the 20th Century centres on events that occurred, were planned, or started in Berlin. On the Berlin trip we go to this fascinating city to hear the stories and see the sights for ourselves. We have the opportunity to try and comprehend the scale of the consequences of many events, and we can contemplate how different life could be around Europe now had a few of the stories had slightly different endings.

The beautiful, historic and diverse region around Bavaria has provided inspiration to dreamers and geniuses for centuries. Let your imagination run free as we wander round ‘mad’ King Ludwig II’s mind-blowing creations, such as Schloss Neuschwanstein. We also explore Munich’s important history and role in the world wars and visit the headquarters of inspirational world leading companies such as BMW and Siemens as we marvel at the cultural diversity of the region.

Whether discovering imperial palaces and some of Europe’s most impressive architure in Vienna, or the hundreds of beautiful fortresses, monasteries and abbeys of the Danube Valley, everyone agrees that Austria is breathtakingly beautiful. Vienna has been voted the city with the best quality of life in the world, and it is easy to see why. The charming town of Salzburg was the home of Mozart, who continues to inspire music lovers around the world. We dance to the Sound of Music in the gardens where it was filmed, visit the salt mines from which Salzburg got its name, and take on the 17th Century trick fountains of the Schloss Hellbrunn.

What will inspire you most on your trip?

Have you considered:

a music themed trip to the cities which were home to Mozart, Beethoven and many others? a history trip focussed on the rise of the Nazi party, World War II, and resistance movements such as the White Rose? a technology trip based around visits to companies such as BMW and Siemens?
